‘EVOQUE’ was designed to meet an increasing demand from second and holiday home owners for architecturally-sophisticated villas which fall into the ‘mid’ price range. The goal was to create contemporary yet timeless architecture that combines leading-edge elements with local materials such as hand-crafted natural stone walls. The foundation for this villa poses a previous project, which has been extremely popular with our clients. EVOQUE however, has an independent design and has been optimized, both in terms of size and layout, to meet the demands of a year-round use. We made something good even better 😉
Working again in close collaboration with young dynamic architect Jaime Salva, we developed a design that is simple but unique and certainly stands out against other modern houses. Thanks to the use of warm natural materials such as wood and stone, ‘EVOQUE’ is clean but not cold, modern but never minimalist.
Natural handcrafted local stone walls have been used in both the exterior and interior of the house to ensure a sense of being at home in Mallorca, while a geometric wood façade creates a distinct eye-catching first impression. Inside, the layout is comfortably open with an ample kitchen and dining area surrounded by large panoramic windows which open fully allowing a seamless indoor-outdoor transition. This concept continues throughout the ground floor.
At the heart of the house is the kitchen complete with central cooking island and the traditional dry-stone wall as a unique feature of this property. Another key element of the interior design is the courtyard patio in the back of the property, that provides plenty of light and sets the Mediterranean mood thanks to its lush palms and plants. The ground floor also hosts a guest bedroom en suite and a guest toilet.
The first floor is dedicated to the generous master suite with walk-in wardrobe and stylish bathroom with shower and bathtub, alongside two further bedrooms sharing a chic bathroom. Furthermore an ample Lounge, that is perfectly suited as your second living room with a big TV screen. Also children will love this area for gaming and playing…
The basement of the villa offers even more…Apart from the laundry, storage areas and technical rooms, the basement also provides space to install e.g. a private Spa area with Gym and Sauna. This area could also host a Home-Cinema or an ample office…Your cars are safely parked in a modern double garage. From there you access the villa via a nicely designed reception room with ample wardrobes and a climatized Bodega, before you reach the elevator.
Our interior designer Marga Comas, has created a cosy but contemporary interior design with natural colours – a nod to ‘Scandi’ style. Local materials and design touches serve to remind you that this is a Mediterranean property with a relaxing holiday ambience. The natural stone (‘Gris Balear’ – Balearic Grey) and natural oak wood floors set a neutral tone that can be adapted to suit individual tastes. Elegant but clean bathrooms with distinct design features and walk-in showers complement the largely straightforward interior design.
The outside area is landscaped with Mediterranean palms, trees and plants – naturally we have also provided an ample lawn area. Covered terraces provide shade throughout the hot summer period while the infinity swimming pool with a shallow seating area is the perfect place to refresh. The combination of natural stone, poolside sunbathing areas and colourful gardens creates a true Mediterranean paradise. ‘Evoque’ is southwest facing and is therefore lucky enough to enjoy plenty of sun and light throughout the day – and indeed the year.
Responsible for the design and architecture is the young dynamic architect Jaime Salva known for his timeless but contemporary style. Instantly recognizable, his homes have a certain distinctive identity that sets them apart from the many other semi-modern houses appearing on the market - this gives buyers guaranteed future added value.
